Mr. Mottola was born in Darby to the late Antonio and Jenny (nee Erricola) Mottola. He graduated from Darby High School. After graduating, Mr. Mottola began work at Philadelphia Electric and Gas rising to the position of Supervisor of Gas for Delaware County. He worked there until his retirement at age 65. In 1949, he married Helen (nee Ludwig).
When she became ill 13 years ago, he devoted himself to her care. Mr. Mottola was pre-deceased by his brothers Ralph and Albert and his sister Elizabeth Proietto. Survivors: Besides his wife of 63 years, he is survived by his daughters Helen Mottola and Toni Alice Pellegrino both of Glen Mills; his grandchildren Rob Walker and Beth Fitzgerald; his great-grandchildren Justin, Elaina, Miranda, Sebastian and Henry; his brother Anthony Mottola and his sister Connie Cecchine both of Milmont Park and his brother Joseph Mottola of Glen Mills.
Service: Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 AM in Our Lady of Peace Church, Milmont & Belmont Aves., Milmont Park.
