She was born on March 27, 1932 in Iredell County, to the late Arnold Plato Dingler and Edna Morrow Dingler. Mrs. Johnson retired from Walmart, where she was a greeter. She previously worked at Burlington Industries and Parker Hannifin. Mrs. Johnson was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Blair; and a great grandson.
Leona is survived by her husband, Climmer Houston Johnson; children, Carrie Trowbridge and husband, Mike, David Blair and wife, Deborah both of Mooresville; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 8 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
