Obit from Jay Chapel: "Mr. Lorenzo S. Garza passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the age of 89. Lorenzo was born in Mexico and a resident of Madera, CA for the past 42 years. He worked for 20 years as a Laborer in Highway Construction. Lorenzo was a member of the Guadalupana Society of St. Joachim Catholic Church and head usher for years, opening and closing the church.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his wife Isabel Garza on September 11, 2007. He is survived by his two sons, Raul Garza and his wife Sara of Laredo, TX, Ruben Garza and his wife Irma of Madera, his three daughters, Dora Zamora, Elena Garza both of Fresno, Idalia Huenergardt and her husband Paul of Madera, four brothers, Serapio Garza of Madera, Pioquinto Garza of Mexico, Eulalio Garza of Madera, Jesus Garza of Mexico, his three sisters, Paula Sosa of Madera, Carolina Betancourt and Barbara Moreno both of Texas. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA.
Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010, 4:00 PM at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on: Monday, October 18, 2010, 9:00 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, CA. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Madera, CA.
Remembrances may be made to: Mt St Joseph Seminary, 6530 Wells Avenue, Loomis, CA 95650."
