PASS CHRISTIAN --- John D. Moran, 80, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, in Pass Christian.
Mr. Moran, a native of Harrison County, was a former resident of Hattiesburg, Jackson, and Vicksburg, and had been a resident of the Coast for the past 14 years. He was a graduate of Pass Christian High School and attended Hinds County Junior College. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the American Theater medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater medal with two bronze stars, Purple Heart, Good Conduct medal, two Overseas Service Bars, and the World War II Victory medal. He retired after 35 years with Pitney-Bowes, and was a charter member of the Ft. Maurepas Society, American Legion and VFW. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria S. Moran; and a brother, Milton Moran.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita M. Kegley and Marie Maxwell; a sister, Irene Sutter, all of Pass Christian; and four granddaughters.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport with burial in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to the John D. Moran Memorial for French Colonial Studies at Hancock Bank.
