Lois Ballard Bell, 93, of Tifton, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 2 in Memorial Hospital ECF following an extended illness. Graveside services were held Thursday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton. Rev. Dr. Ches Smith III officiated.
Mrs. Bell was a native of Fulton County, the daughter of the late Claiborn Lorenzo Ballard and the late Sarah Catherine Lee Ballard. She had resided in Tifton most of her life. She was the widow of Fred Bell, Sr.
Mrs. Bell was a charter member of the Tifton Garden Club and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tifton. She donated her time as a worker in the Beginners Sunday School Department.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lollie Morgan of Tennille and Mrs. Lavern Newson of Atlanta, a son Fred Bell of Moultrie, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
E.K May Funeral Home in Tennille was in charge of the arrangements.
The family suggests that contributions be made to the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church of Tifton.
