PASS CHRISTIAN --- Mrs. Gloria Moran, 75, died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in New Orleans.
Mrs. Moran was a native of Taylorsville and had been a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a homemaker and a Lutheran. She was a former Commandant of the Ft. Maurepas Society, was a past president of the Miss. Gulf Coast Historical and Genealogical Society and was the former editor of its journal. She was also a member of numerous other national and international historical and genealogical societies.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Daniel Smith.
Survivors include her husband, John D. Moran; two daughters, Anita M. Kegley and Marie Maxwell, both of Pass Christian; a brother, Harry R. Smith of New Orleans; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. A service will be at 12:30 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel, with burial in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to the Gloria S. Moran Memorial Fund for French Colonial Studies at USM, Long Beach, c/o Hancock Bank.
