August 8, 1969 The Mears Newz
Mrs. Cordelia Gathercoal, 92 was buried at Pentwater Tuesday. Born in Illinois in 1877 she married Dr. E. N. Gathercoal in 1889. I think he was one time a professor of pharmacy in a college. Fifty years or more ago they had a cottage on Lake Michigan at Cedar Banks. I remember one time when they were living in Pentwater, The Mears Newz had a description how it was put together like a pharmacy prescription and Dr. Gathercoal was so impressed that he ordered twelve copies of that issue to send to pharmacy college professors that he knew. By 15 years he preceded the departure of his wife, who is survived by two daughters, Marian Lund of Ludington and Jean Christensen of Pentwater; four grandchildren and seven grt. grandchildren.
