Thomas Daws, 96 of West Chester formerly of Springfield, PA died Friday November 16, 2012 at Wellington Terrace in West Chester.
He was the husband of Eleanor Jane Groff Daws of West Chester and his first wife the late Margaret Rose Daws
Born in Ardmore, PA he was the son of William Daws and Carrie Gresley Daws
Tom served his country during WW II as an Army Tech Sergeant.
He a postal worker for the railway mail service and after his retirement he worked as the Chief Ranger at the Ridley Creek State Park for 15 years.
Throughout his working career, Tom was also a carpenter by trade and worked as a private contractor.
Tom was a member of the American Legion and loved sports especially Golf and Baseball.
He was a member of the Edgmont Country Club, Hershey Mill Golf Club and enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered for telling his stories and jokes.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Kenneth Daws of Newark, DE, Thomas (Elaine) Daws of Newark, DE, Robert Daws of Bala Cynwyd, PA, a step daughter, Diana L. (James) Vaules of West Chester, PA, brother, George Daws of FL, many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and his former daughter in law, Jean Daws
He was predeceased by his, son Francis Daws
Relatives and Friends are invited to his Funeral Service, 11 am Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 689 Sugertown Rd. Malvern, PA.
Visitation will be 10:30–11 am Wednesday at the church.

Interment with Military Honors will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Francis in the Fields Church at the above address.
