This is only a memorial marker. Hugh Palmer Prince married Grace Burt Lanter on February 21, 1944. He was killed April 6, 1945 in World War II near Okinawa and buried at sea.

Metalsmith First Class, 2954100, USN. Killed in Action. One of twelve crewmembers killed in the kamikaze attack on the destroyer USS Hyman (DD-732), off Ie Shima, Okinawa. Buried at sea.
