Kalliopi was the Daughter of Alexandros Georgios Panagiotakos and Georgia Kapetanakos.

Kalliopi immigrated to America with her Mother and her younger Brother, Nikolaos (aka "Nicholas") in 1932. They arrived at the Port of New York, New York on December 1, 1932. Her Father had arrived in 1920 and her older Brother, Georgios, in 1928 at the Port of New York.

Kalliopi, after immigrating, changed her given name to "Caroline".
