Laura B. (Pierce) Barainyak, a homemaker age 77 of Swedeland, PA, died on Thursday, March 15th, 2012 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Swedeland on October 16th, 1934 daughter of the late Donald and Josephine (Opeilski) Pierce and the eldest of 10 siblings (5 brothers and 4 sisters). She was the beloved wife of Stephen P. Barainyak for 58 years. Laura was a lifelong resident of Swedeland, a community that benefited greatly as a result of her civic service and love of community. She attended Upper Merion Area High School. A spiritual and religious woman of strong morals and values, she was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Gertrude RC Church. She was an avid supporter of the Eagles, Phillies and especially her beloved Flyers. She enjoyed roller skating, swimming, bingo, crocheting, and cooking. A festive fun loving keystone of her large close knit family, Laura thoroughly enjoyed decorating and organizing family holidays and get togethers making a point to pass that knowledge on to her family. She is survived by 2 sons, Stephen P. Jr. (m. Maria) of West Chester and Michael L. (m. Margaret) of Chalfont; 5 daughters, Laura (m. the late Edward) Gunsalus, Josephine A. Barainyak of Swedeland, Joyce A. Cantando (m. Thomas) of Collegeville, Michelle L. Barainyak of Swedeland and Donna M. Staurowsky (m. Franklin) of Sanatoga; 11 grandchildren, Phillip, Danielle, Michael, Deidre, Jacqueline, Daria, Alexandra, Laura, Marcus, Kirsten and Jared; 1 great-grandchild, Hallie. Relatives and friends may pay respects on Tuesday morning, March 20th, from 9:30-10:45am at the William A. Moore Funeral Home, 708 Fayette Street, Conshohocken. Interment, Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken
