Elsie Thorne Drane 87 of Columbus and formerly of Jackson died on April 27, 2008. She was the widow of F. Becker Drane. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born on January 27, 1921, she was the oldest daughter of S. B. and Annie Glaze Thorne. She worked for many years as office manager of the Jackson Bone and Joint Clinic. She will best be remembered for her kind and gracious spirit of giving to others. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Jackson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Paul C. Thorne and Sevia B. Thorne.
She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Walters of Clinton; eight step children; ten nieces and nephews, and 21 great nieces and nephews.
