Joel Mark Mozena, 52 was born December 12, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa. He is the son of Wayne L. and Donna M. (Lucht) Mozena. He died Thursday November 15, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center of heart failure.

Joel is survived by his parents Wayne and Donna Mozena of Bondurant, brothers John (Lori) of West Des Moines, Jeff (Chris) of West Des Moines and James (Rachel) Mozena of Overland Park, Kansas, nephews Garrett, Luke and Drew, nieces Katelyn, Megan and Quinn, his companion Becky Hoening, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Joel grew up in the east side of Des Moines, Iowa attending Willard Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School, East High School, graduating from Urbandale High School in Urbandale, Iowa.

He was employed by the Des Moines Register and also worked at Eagle Iron Works and Big A Auto Parts. He was an avid fisherman, enjoying fishing every chance he got. He also followed Nascar Racing. He had a pleasant smile and was helpful to many people.
