Charley Carl Brister passed away at home on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, after a two-year battle with melanoma cancer. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Charley was born Jan. 13, 1938, in the Walker community, Garvin County, Okla., to O.M. and Pauline Brister. He married Earleen Legena Norvell on Oct. 10, 1959. Charley retired from Bell Helicopter in 1996 after 33 years. After retiring, he spent 11 years in San Saba County hunting and farming before moving back to the Fort Worth area in 2006. After moving back to the Fort Worth area, one of his favorite activities was crappie fishing at Navarro Mills. Survivors: Wife, Earleen Legena Brister; daughter, Legena Gail Brister; son, Carl Dean Brister and wife, Beverly Karen Brister; and grandchildren, Amanda Lanee Brister and Justin Carl Brister, all of the Fort Worth area.
