Funeral services celebrating the life of Doreen M. Roos, age 61, of Sauk Centre will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in Sartell. Doreen passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Reverend Greg Lieser will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Parish Cemetery in Sartell.
Doreen was born on June 14, 1951 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to the late Laurence G. and Redelle (Brinkman) DeZurik. She graduated from Technical High School in 1969. She married Richard W. "Rick" Roos on February 20, 1971 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Doreen was a navy wife early in her marriage who lived in many places in both the U.S. and overseas. They resided in Wisconsin until Richard's death in 2001, when Doreen moved to Sauk Centre to be near family.
She loved horses, dogs, fishing and fish fries, traveling "especially to Aruba" and gardening.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters; Dianne (Ed) Dirkswager, Jim (Patt) DeZurik, Judy (Marty) Igo, Dan (Linda) DeZurik, Chuck (Janet) DeZurik; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rick; brother, Dick DeZurik; and sister, Cathy DeZurik.
