The Hawk Eye, August 27, 2005; Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa:

Pauline Lee, 89, of Morning Sun, died after a brief illness Thursday, August 25, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born April 9, 1916, near Yarmouth, she was the daughter of Glen and Pearl Leuticia Conn Housman. On February 16, 1939, she married Lester H. Lee in Yarmouth. He died August 19, 1996.

Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and farm wife. As a young woman, she worked for Orchard & Brown Grocery in Yarmouth.

She was a graduate of Yarmouth High School. She and her husband loved the land and farmed near Morning Sun. She was a member of Morning Sun United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Yarmouth Methodist Church. She was a Des Moines County 4-H leader and belonged to the Friendly Neighbors Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Lee Tank of Davenport; two sons, Thomas L. Lee of Ankeny and Douglas D. Lee of Morning Sun; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Robbins of Wapello; and two brothers, Floyd Housman of Yarmouth and Wendell Housman of New London.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Lee will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Morning Sun United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
