Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Estelle Leggett, beloved resident of McComb for the past nine years, were held Monday afternoon, Nov. 4, at three o'clock from Strong Hope Baptist church in Copiah county.
Mrs. Leggett's passing occurred Sunday afternoon, Nov. 3, at 1:10 following a period of increasingly serious illness, and is mourned by a great host of friends made during her residence here as well as by her sorrowing immediate family.
Rev. Wyatt R. Hunter, pastor of First Baptist church, McComb, and Rev. T. W. Greer, pastor of Strong Hope church, officiated at last rites, with the following serving as pallbearers, Beasley Thompson, Houston Farmer, Houston Wroten, Davis Farmer, C. R. Smith and Prentiss Smith.
Mrs. Leggett was a native of Rockport, Miss. She is survived by her husband, E. A. Leggett, McComb; by four sons, Early Leggett, McComb; .O L. Leggett, Fort Wayne, Ind.; I. E. Leggett, Martinsville, Miss., and John Leggett, Jackson; by two brothers, William Farmer, Sicily Island, La., and J. A. Farmer, Gulfport, and two sisters, Mrs. J. M. Thompson, Vicksburg, and Mrs. J. J. Thompson, Sicily Island, La.
Interment was in Strong Hope cemetery with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of services.
