Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Melvin Baugh, the Rev. Swain Carlan, the Rev. Henry G. Barnes and the Rev. Marshall Dale will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Hall County to the late Charlie Abernathy and Nettie Chester Abernathy. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, George Wiley Wilson; daughter, Carolyn Williams; grandchildren, Jenene Wilson, Ronny Baugh; and great-grandson, Justin Fambrough; brothers, the Rev. Lovic Abernathy and Coy Abernathy; sister, Ollie Hunt; and a very special nephew, Jerry Simmons.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Linda Wilson and Clinton and Fannie Wilson, both of Lula; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Wiley Miller, Gainesville, Fay and Charles Loden, Lula, and Vickie and Mike Craven, Gillsville; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
