Son of John William Davis and Nannie Ree (Whitton) Davis. He was born in the county hospital located in Glendale, California. He was raised in Covina, California along with his eight siblings: Daisy Winifred (Davis) Keith, John Whitton Davis, Mary Alice (Davis) Adair, William "Bill" Thomas Davis, Ruth LaVaughn (Davis) Wells, Phyllis Nan (Davis) Cook, Robert Edward "Eddie" Davis and Douglas Allen Davis.

He married Patricia Ellen Jones on 14 December 1956.

They were blessed with four children: Rick Lee Davis, Wendy Jean Davis, Katharine "Lori" Lorraine Davis and Raymond Cary Davis.

Former San Pedro resident Donald E. "Don" Davis passed away at his home in Lodi, Ca on August 29, 2012. Born in Covina, Ca to John and Nannie (Whitton) Davis, Don attended Covina High School where he met, and eventually married, his high school sweetheart, Patricia Jones also of Covina in 1956. Don came from a family of eight, three brothers, William, Edward and Doug Davis and four sisters, Daisy (Keith), Mary (Adair), Ruth Davis Wells, and Phyllis (Cook) Davis. Don was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, Daisy, Ruth and Mary, his wife Patricia, son-in-law James Struberg and grandson, Jonathan Davis. Don survived by his sister, Phyllis (Cook) Davis, his four children, Rick Davis, Wendy Lameria, Lori (Struberg-Russo), Raymond Davis and six grandchildren, Amber (Garsen) Slusser, Justin Davis, James Struberg, Jennifer Struberg and Raeann Davis. He also has four great grandchildren, Kasidy, Payton, and Allyson Slusser, Chloe Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Oakdale Memorial Cemetery in Glendora, Ca on October 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Don will be laid to rest alongside his wife of 42 years, Pat. The family request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart, Lung, and/or Diabetes Associations. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits."
