Iva Phillips, age 83, of Newport, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Phillips; parents, Harris and Narcessia Phillips; daughters, Joann and Willadean; sisters, Beulla, Opal, Sarah and Allene; brother, Hal and Oscar. She is survived by her sons, Everette Phillips of Cosby, L. H. Phillips of Newport, J.R. Phillips and wife Teresa of Newport; daughters, Judy Mason and Husband Bob of Gatlinburg, Freda Byrd and husband Bill of Newport, and Peggy Wilson; sisters, Shirley Sweeten of Pigeon Forge and Fern McFalls of Newport; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; an a host of other special family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel, with Rev. Fred Cagle officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
