Sophia Blaicher was the oldest child (known) of Charles (born about 1827, died 1888) and Caroline (Max) Blaicher (1824-1917), both of Württemberg.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and was followed by a brother, August, and sisters Pauline, Caroline, and Emma. Three other children died in infancy or childhood.

Her father committed suicide in 1888 in St. Louis, her mother lived until 1917, and died there as well.

Sophia first married Daniel Brumm Jr. (1848-1890), an immigrant from Sternenfels, Württemberg, whose family had arrived in America in 1853.

They made their home in St. Louis, where their seven children were born. One died in infancy. Another two died quite young, those being Louisa (1875-1881), and Charles Fred Brumm (1886-1888).

Son August (1889-1954) was disabled, paralyzed and unable to walk, and lived with his mother until her death.

The other children were Emma (Brumm) Busekrus (1877-1945), William (1880-1975) and Edward Brumm (1883-1964).

After Daniel Brumm's death, Sophia remarried in about 1894 to August "Henry" Miller, who was a native German, born there in 1838. They had a daughter, Mabel K. (Miller) Nudelman (1897-1988).

Sophie died March 23, 1936, and was buried on March 26 at Hiram Park Cemetery.
