3-1-1961 New Paltz Independent and Times:
Harry w. Deyo of 63 Tiona Ave., Belleville, New Jersey, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, in East Orange General Hospital after a short illness at the age of 75. He was born in New Paltz, son of the late Charles P. Deyo and ArabellaRichmeyer Deyo. He was a member of the New Paltz Normal School graduating class of 1907.
Mr. Deyo's life work was with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Co., Newark office, where he was employed for 40 years. He was office manager to the general plant manager for several years prior to his retirement in 1951. He was a member of the H. G. McCully Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America, also the Men's Club of Belleville.
He leaves a sister, Miss Hazel B. Deyo, with whom he lived; a brother, Ernest of Worchester, Mass.; two nephews, John Elting Deyo of West Boylston, Mass., son of Ernest, and Maurice Deyo, son of deceased brother, Charles.
Funeral services were held Monday evening at 8 o'clock at the Wadsworth Funeral Parlors, Belleville. A graveside service was conducted Tuesday at 11:30 at the New Paltz Cemetery by the Rev. John Wright Follette, a long-time family friend, in the presence of the nephew, John Elting Deyo, a grandniece, Miss Judy Putnam and several local friends.
