F. G. STEWART DIES THURSDAY
Floyd G. Stewart died Thursday morning at seven o’clock at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Mrs. Stewart and eighteen months old son, Ronald were at his bedside when death came. The father, J. G. Stewart and sister, Mrs. L. B. Abbey, left Thursday morning for Omaha following the news of his death.
For almost three weeks he had been in Omaha taking X-Ray electrical treatments form Dr. Tyler for sarcoma of his neck and shoulder from which he had suffered for about four months. Wednesday he was taken to the St. Joseph Hospital for care and passed away there early in the morning Thursday.
The body will be brought to this city for burial, though when the day and hour of the funeral were not known Thursday noon when the Review was placed on the press.
The news of the untimely death of Floyd Stewart is a shock of this community. He was a much alive and jolly young man with a large circle of friends in Villisca, where he was born and reared and at Morton Mills where he had made his home for five years. At the latter place he was employed at the W. B. Prather Store.
Early in January the affliction which caused his death became pronounced and the latter part of that month he took treatment for the trouble in Omaha. In March he submitted to an operation at the Methodist Hospital in that city hoping to get relief. It was all in vain, however. Though the last treatment was Dr. Tyler at Omaha seemed to bring relief to Floyd and encouragement to his whole family, it was only temporary.
The deceased is survived by his wife and eighteen month old son; his father, J. G. Stewart of this city; four sisters, Miss Virgie and Mrs. L. T. Abbey of this city, Mrs. Elmer Ulrich of Britt, Iowa and Mrs. O. S. Evans of Kearney, Nebraska. The brothers are Frank of Glen Rock, Wyoming; E. W. of Ravenna, Nebraska; and R. R. Stewart of Wymore, Nebraska.
The deceased was twenty-six years old the 24th day of last October. He was married about four years ago to Miss Golda Focht, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Focht.
