Glen Wilkerson, 81, of West Burlington, died Friday, January 4, 2002, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born February 3, 1920, in Nashville, Indiana, he was the son of Carl Edward and Mary Ellen Kent Wilkerson.
On February 2,1946, he married Enid Gousling in Torquay, England. She preceded him in death. On April 25,1998, he married Betty Wood in Burlington. She, too, preceded him in death.
Mr. Wilkerson worked as a machinist for Case.
He was a member of Four Square Gospel Church in Burlington. He liked to hunt and fish. He was private first class in the Army 6th English Special Brigade of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Ed Wilkerson of West Burlington; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Hutchinson of Gary, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation will begin after noon today at Eicher-Sheagren Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Wilkerson will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Eicher-Sheagren Funeral Home, with the Reverend Sam Fratt officiating. Burial with military rites, conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 10102 and 9162 and the Marine Corps League, will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Four Square Gospel Church.
