Mrs. Hendzel was born in Kalisz, Poland, on Oct. 17, 1920, daughter of the late Stefan and Aleksandra (Dabrowin) Kolodziejczak. She emigrated to the U.S. from Germany in 1951 and settled in Union City where she lived for many years. She also resided in Vermont for 15 years and in Middlebury for 10 years. She retired after 17 years from Saint Mary's Hospital where she worked in the cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
