Ralph P. Emerson, 81, Jesup, died December 15 at East Towne Manor in Independence. Funeral Services were held December 17, 11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup. Burial was in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup. A Masonic memorial service was held December 16th at the Parker Funeral Home in Jesup.
Emerson was born July 6, 1905, the son of Chris A. and Leora Parker Emerson. He graducated from the Jesup High School in 1923. He majored in business administration at the University of Iowa. He was a member of Acacia Fraternity while attending college, and later joined the Masonic Lodge in Jesup.
He was married to Evelyn Waite in 1931, and was involved with the elevator coop and John Deere implements in Fairbank, and then in Jesup, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jesup.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sisters, Edith Ganiere, Jesup, and Bess Sewick, LaPorte City; and two nephews, Gerald Sewick, Aurora, Colorado., and Kit Sewick, LaPorte City.
