James C. Jones of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the age of 91. He was born April 9, 1923 in Turnersville, Texas to Lem Houston and Pearl Jones. He received his GED in Carlsbad, New Mexico and was a foreman for Southwestern Public Service. He was married to Joyce Bullard for 62 years until her passing. James served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II where he was stationed at Blackland Air Force Base in Waco. After honorable discharge, he moved from Carlsbad, New Mexico to Lubbock in 1982 where he became a member at Trinity Church. He was also a longtime Mason member at the Slaton Lodge.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Joan Cox and husband Bernie of Childress; son, Jimmey Jones and wife Joyce of Roswell, New Mexico; two grandchildren, Spring Willingham and Brant Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Cason and McKenzie Jones.

James was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamila Laverne Scarbro; as well as his brothers and sisters.
