Sterling A. Bingham, 90, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at his home in Weston. He was born July 4, 1922, in Weston, Idaho, the son of Lewis and Ada Luella Kofoed Bingham. He married Nelda Corbridge on Aug. 28, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked hard to provide for his family as a farmer and milk hauler. He served as mayor of Weston City for 12 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and dogs. He was always kind to animals.

He is survived by his wife Nelda Bingham of Weston; six daughters, Betty Lou (Clayne) Poulsen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Linda (Conard) Christensen of Syracuse, Utah; June (Kent) Aston of Weston, Idaho; Janet (Jim) Van Zant of Lehi, Utah, Joanne (Brent) Munson of Kearns, Utah, and Sandra (Brian) Stuart of South Jordan, Utah; 28 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Francine Pitcher of Preston, Idaho, Aileen (Ebenezer) Brown of Ogden, Utah, and Gloria Wood of Morgan, Utah. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Sterling and Larry C. Bingham; his parents; three sisters, Erma Fitzmorris, Lois Coy and Beverly Mitton; and two brothers, Richard and Vereen Bingham.

On July 4, 2012, as a family, they celebrated his 90th birthday party and Aug. 28, 2012, he and Nelda celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary!

The family would like to thank Franklin County Hospice & Home Health for their care and also, Xochithl Frankman from Caring Hearts Assisted Living & In Home Care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in the Weston First Ward chapel, with Bishop Randy Austin conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S 800 East in Preston, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
