Selma was the fourth of 9 children born to William and Clara Sophie Louise (Doehring) Endorf. She was baptized shortly after birth at Zion Lutheran Church south of Tobias in Saline county, and confirmed there in 1925. Zion was the site of her marriage, on 2 Apr 1933, to Kurt Holtmeier. They had two sons, Ronald and Glennis. A grandson, Chad James, preceded her in death.
