Mary Rebecca Crowe, 96, passed away Dec. 14, 2009, in Fort Worth, Texas. Mary was born Aug. 31, 1913, in Meyersdale, as Mary Rebecca Suder, the youngest of eight children. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bill and all of her siblings. She married William T. Crowe on June 13, 1937, and they had two children. Survivors are daughter Mary Alyce Zimmerman and husband Zim; son William T. Crowe Jr. and wife Patty; grandchildren: Eric Zimmerman and wife Shannon, Lance Zimmerman and wife Tisha, and David Crowe and wife Young Nam; and great-grandchildren: Noah, Zachary and Brock Zimmerman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In 1947 the family moved to Berlin where they started a family business. Mary was a charter member of the Berlin Women's Club and Eastern Star for over 60 years where she served as Worthy Matron. She moved to Fort Worth in 2002 to be near her daughter. A stay at home mom, Mary loved and nurtured her children. She was truly one of the greatest generation, thankful for what she had, respected and always had a kind word to say about others. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ in Berlin. A previous service was held Jan. 9 in Fort Worth at Ridglea Presbyterian Church with family and friends present.
