Flora D. Cirks, 90, of Beecher, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 2010). Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hack Funeral Home, Beecher. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke United Church of Christ, Beecher, where she was a member. The Rev. Tom Ewing will officiate. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery, Beecher.

Mrs. Cirks was a receptionist at the Hiatt Clinic in Beecher for more than 40 years and also served as the Washington Township tax collector and as a home care provider. She was born June 18, 1919, the daughter of John and Augusta Post Krech. Her husband, Edward Cirks, whom she married Oct. 14, 1939, died in 1956. For more than 50 years, she enjoyed hosting family and friends at her home during the Beecher 4th of July parade and fireworks, sometimes with more than 100 people in attendance.

Surviving are two sons and three daughters-in-law, Tom and Donna Cirks of Momence, George and Claudette Cirks and Rita Cirks, all of Little Rock, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise "Dee Dee" and David Moore of Neoga; 12 grandchildren, Mike (Mary) Cirks, Debbie Shore, Matthew (Joy) Moore, Amanda (Mike) Brown, Kelly (Lanse) Zoeller, Megan (Jason) Howard, Tori Cirks, Mary Catherine and Johnnie Ross, Blake Cirks, Grant Cirks, Bryan (Candice) Hoffman, Christy Hoffman; 22 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Stephanie, Carley, Madelyn, Mikayla, Caleb, Mae, Emily, Claire, Nicholas, Katie, April, Amanda, Logan, Matt, Julie, Nick, Bryana, Julie, Alyssa, Lance, Gannon; one brother, Wally Krech of Champaign; two sisters, Pearl Cheney and Thelma Bobzin, both of Florida; lifelong friend, Helen Heusing; and special neighbors, Larry and Linda Young.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard; and three brothers, George, Will and Randy.
