He served in the Army and in 1945 was stationed at Fort Knox, Ky as a Tank Instructor. He was employed by US Plywood and was transferred to Miami, Florida in 1961.
When he was 24, He married Ada Gertrude LANE,daughter of Joseph Ernest LANE and Jane WATERS, on 13 Sep 1939 in Scranton, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA.
They had 1 son: Robert Lane BOYD
When he was 34, He married Ida Mae LURDING,daughter of John Benjamin LURDING and Blanche Milburn FISHER, on 06 Jun 1949 in Newark, Essex, New Jersey, USA
