In 1868 he left his wife and children in Switzerland, and came directly to Highland, where for a time he was employed on the farm of George Hotz. He afterwards secured work at his trade with Rudolph Baumann, the baker, in whose employ he was for two years, at the end of which his wife and six children arrived from the old country.
His second marriage was on 24 Jan 1889 to Mrs. Wilhelmina Accola.
He was in the saloon and bakery business at the time of his death, which he had carried on for many years, and was quite a success.
Father of fifteen children .
Seven of whom preceded him in death.
