Annie Jane Saxon, age 87, passed on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, November 15th at the Wyanett Evangelical Free Church in Princeton with Rev. Bruce Talso officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service from 11am to 12pm at the church. Interment will follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery.

Annie Veal was born on July 26, 1925 in Princeton, Minnesota to Riley Jarrett "Decker" and Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Veal.

She was united in marriage to David Edward Saxon. Two daughters, Marilyn Fern ("Bubs") and MaryAnn Margaret ("Sissy") were born to this union. They later divorced. Annie started working as a nursing home dietary aide in the 1960s when her mother was sick in the Franklin Nursing Home in order to be near her. She continued as a dietary aide until she retired in the late 1980s.

Annie loved her family and they were the focus of her life. She enjoyed visiting, garage sale-ing, reading the newspaper, doing crosswords and putting puzzles together. She was a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa of Michigan.

Annie is survived by daughters Marilyn (Elroy) Iverson of Northfield and MaryAnn (Walter) Phelps of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren Jeffrey Iverson, Northfield; James Iverson, Northfield; Jeanna Iverson, Burnsville; David Iverson, Dundas; Walter Phelps, Jr., Minnetonka; and Marilyn Phelps, Minneapolis; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Martin of Bradford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Mary Veal; siblings Ellsworth "Buck" Veal, Mina (Veal) Edmunds, Richard Veal, Margaret "Maggie" (Veal) Applegate; half-siblings Garrette Veal, Dewey Vale, Daisy Vale, Alfred Gay, Wilbur Gay, Charles Gay, and Ethel (Gay Kuenthe) Larkin.

She is sadly missed by her family, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
