Dr. Richard D. Moore, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Greensburg, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. He was born July 25, 1929, in Greensburg, Indiana, to Andrew D. Moore and Helyn I. Moore.

A graduate of Hanover College, Butler University and Christian Theological Seminary, he served in the United States Air Force and was married on March 16, 1957, in Indianapolis.. He then served three churches: First Christian Church in Summitville, Indiana, Augusta Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Covenant Federated Church in Kentland, Indiana.

After retirement, he served as an interim minister at Summitville, Auburn, Connersville and New Salem. He was a State Police Chaplin for thirty-four years.

He is survived by his wife; his sister; his daughter and son-in-law; his son, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry; and a granddaughter, Emily Marie Coats.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Family Life Center at First Christian Church, 425 N. Broadway, Greensburg, Indiana, 47240. The funeral service is planned Monday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m.
