Ruth Jenkins Seeley, 82, of Hewitt, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10 at First Baptist Church Hewitt with the Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd.

Ruth, the youngest of 11 children was born Jan. 28, 1921 to B. A. and Laura Jane Jenkins. She grew up and attended school in the Bosqueville and South Bosque areas. Ruth married Louis R. Seeley on Feb. 19, 1954 in Waco. She worked for the City of Hewitt for several years until her retirement. She also has worked as a volunteer at Providence Hospital for eight years. She faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Hewitt until her health no longer permitted. While there, she was the first female greeter and attended the Esther Sunday School class. She loved her family, church and LORD!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Seeley Feb. 8, 1986, and son Tommy Lee Seeley May 13, 1986. She was the last of her 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Stuart of Hewitt and Wanda "Jeannie" Ashcroaft and husband Rev. Lynn Ashcraft of Orange; son, Jimmie Joe Helleson and wife Gloria of Waco; grandsons, Dewayne Helleson and Mike Seeley; granddaughters, Lyna Sanford, Jana Cotton and Melinda Seeley; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Hewitt.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hewitt, 301 South 1st Street, Hewitt, Tx 76643.
