Fred Austin Blazer, 81, died Tuesday at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Blazer was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
His family noted, "He was a very devoted and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather."
Mr. Blazer was the widower of Mary M. Hale Blazer, who died June 6, 1996.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Minnie Sue and Roger Winter of Parrottsville and Diana and Mike Perkins of Bristol; three sons: Ray Blazer and Donald Blazer, both of Greeneville and Coy Blazer of Bulls Gap; seven grandchildren: Shawn Winter of Parrottsville, Jeff Harrin and Anthony Waits, both of Bristol, Randy Woods of Greeneville, Adam Blazer and Cody Blazer, both of Bulls Gap, and Donald Fine of Newport; one great-grandson: Austin Woods of White Pine; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend of the family: Rosalee Phillips of Bulls Gap.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Jean Blazer; and a half-brother: Ralph Blazer.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today and Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. John Taber will officiate.
Interment will follow in River Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.
