Antone Phillips

Antone Phillips a former well known public carriage driver in the city died Saturday afternoon at his home in the Harte House on Lincolnville Avenue. He had been ill for several yars and his death resulted from heart-failure.

He was born in Highate Vt., March 4, 1847 later going to Burlington, Vt.

He came from there to Belfast about 14 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, one son and six daughters, John Phillips, who is living at the home, Mrs. Alma and Mrs. Rosa Way, Cora Phinney (Finley), Mrs. Lizzie Westover, Mrs. Lena and Mrs. Minnie Smith all of this city.

The Funeral took place at his late home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. George C. Saucer of the Baptist Church Officiating.

The interment was in Grove Cemetery in Belfast, Vt.

The bearers were Harvey and Newton Way, James Westover, William Phillips, William and Harry Smith.
