* The 1860 Census ages are incorrect. Ezra Ward's age on 29 Jun 1860 should be (51). All ages in the Age Column need to be shifted down one row. The ages should then be: Ezra (51); Mehetable (38); Martha (18); Thomas (16); Milton (13); John (10); William (8 vs. 7); and Ezra the child (6). Also, The first Elizabeth Duncan is actually Elizabeth Ellen "Bettie" Ward, and her age should be (1). Then Mary Duncan should be (8); the 2nd Elizabeth Duncan should be (5); and W. H. Givens should probably be (23) based upon shifting the ages down one row for everyone else.

It becomes our sad duty to this week chronicle the death of another good citizen, John Q. Ward, who died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Bert Edie, near Salisbury, on Friday, July 29, 1904, aged 56 years. Mr. Ward had lived in Higbee for the past few years and proved himself a conscientious, Christian gentleman and his many friends are pained to learn of his death. He had been in poor health for a number of years, and since the death of his wife a few months ago he steadily declined. The remains were tenderly laid to rest by the side of his wife at Pleasant Grove church, near Yates, last Saturday in the presence of a large number of friends and neighbors. He was a brother of W. E. Ward.
