Carl "June" Maples, age 82 of Sevierville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Mr. Maples was born in Elkmont in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and was a member of Williamsburg Baptist Church. "June" celebrated 57 years of marriage with his wonderful wife Ruby Faye Maples on Monday, March 5th.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Annie Maples; brother, Arthur Maples and sister, Katherine Stinnett.
He leaves behind his wife, Ruby; his beloved children, Colleen (Herb), Clark (Teresa) , Becky (Jeff) , Ronnie , twins Reba and Richie and Tonya ; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, special nieces and nephews and a host of special people that visited his home over the course of his life.
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday with funeral service to follow at 4 PM in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Beck and Rev. Shane Cogdill officiating. Interment 1 PM Monday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
