Mrs. Effie Mae (Chilcote) Bonsell
A longtime resident of Spruce Creek. Mrs. Effie Mae Bonsell, died Tuesday, July 8, 1958, at 11 p. m. at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith, of 925 East Philadelphia Street, York, Pa.
She was born May 18, 1872, at Waterstreet, Huntingdon County, Pa. a daughter of Harry and Jane Chilcoate. She was married to John Philip Bonsell at Spruce Creek on September 18, 1890, and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1941.
The deceased is survived by the following children: Carl Scott Bonsell and Mrs. Charles E. (Mae) Brown, Huntingdon, Pa.; John L. Bonsell, Gerald W. Bonsell and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Woodring, Spruce Creek; Raymond M. Bonsell and Joseph M. Bonsell, Tyrone; Mrs. Charles (Alma) T. Alley, Alexandria, R. D. Huntingdon County, Pa.; Mrs. Earl (Mirrel) Smith, York, and Norman Bonsell, Lewisberry, Pa. There are 27 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. One son and one daughter preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of the Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Aid of that church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday July 12, 1958, from the Glass Funeral Home. Interment will be made East Lawn Cemetery, Tyrone, Blair County, Pa.
