Ruby Olala Bowman, 80, of 2420 W. Third Street, Owensboro, KY died Sunday, August 28, 2005, at Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. She was born on September 4, 1924 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Joseph and Mary (Sparks) Vowels. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest C. Bowman. Survivors include a son, Keith Bowman and wife, Lillian, of Owensboro; two daughters, Scarlett Bowman Smith and Sheila Bowman both of Owensboro; eight grandchildren, Bryson Bowman, Brooke Bowman, Kristen Smith, Raymond Smith, Megan Smith, Misty Mullen, Adrienne Payne and Stephanie Payne; five great grandchildren and five sisters, Barbara Fulkerson of Panther, Louise Mann and Mary J. Snow both of Owensboro, Mavis Young of Arizona and Mary A. 'Toodles' Velotta of Washington. Services are at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home.
