Services for Glen Atnip, 77, of Slaton will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Westview Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Martin officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton under the direction of Englund's Funeral Service of Slaton.

He died Wednesday, June 5, 2002.

He was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Bells. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He moved to Slaton in 1947. He married Frances Hale Cagle on Nov. 5, 1971, in Slaton. He retired as a locomotive engineer with the Santa Fe Railroad in 1989 after 39 years of service.

He was a member of the BLE Union and Westview Baptist Church, where he was a greeter and usher. He was a member of Slaton Masonic Lodge 1094, where he was a worshipful master, and also was a volunteer for Slaton Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Susan Norrell of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Elwanda Pruitt of San Diego, Calif., and Juanita Martin of Bonham; and four grandchildren.
