THE VILLAGES — Houston Franklin "Chip" Roberson Jr., 60, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

Mr. Roberson was born in Polk County, GA. He spent his professional career working as a pharmacist but his passion was in serving as pastor of Baptist churches throughout North Carolina and Virginia. He moved to The Villages and was a member of Cross Pointe in Ocala.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa; sons Benjamin Roberson, Chesapeake, VA, Houston "Trey" Roberson, Warner Robbins, GA; daughter, Claire Roberson, The Villages; one granddaughter; father, O.E. Brannan, DDS, and his wife Wanda, Cedartown, GA; sisters Anne Mason, Holly Brannan and Kathy Howell; and brother, Eddie Brannan.

Services will be held at a later date in Georgia and Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are by Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Lady Lake.

Houston Franklin "Chip" Roberson, Jr., 60, of The Villages, FL went home to be with his Lord on November 6, 2012. Born November 11, 1951 in Polk County, GA, Mr. Roberson was a graduate of the University of Georgia, Class of 1976 and loved his Bulldogs, especially UGA football. He spent his professional career working as a pharmacist but his passion was in pastoring Baptist churches throughout North Carolina and Virginia. He was a selfless individual with a heart for missions and his influence was felt around the world. He received his Doctorate of Theology from SEBTS in 1998 and in 2011; Chip moved to the Villages and was a member of Cross Pointe in Ocala. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by: his wife of 35 years, Teresa of The Villages, FL; son Benjamin Roberson, and his wife Sarah of Chesapeake, VA; daughter Claire Roberson of The Villages, FL; son Houston "Trey" Roberson, and his wife Mona of Warner Robbins, GA; granddaughter Jasmine Roberson of Warner Robbins, GA; father O.E. Brannan, DDS and his wife Wanda of Cedartown, GA; sisters: Anne Mason and her husband Richard, Holly Brannan, and Kathy Howell and her husband David; and brother Eddie Brannan and his wife Teresa. Services for Mr. Roberson will be held at a later date in Georgia and Virginia. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, donations locally may be made to The American Cancer Society.
