The dates for Hebbert b.Jun 1928 Wilkes Co., NC d.24 Nov 1875 Hebbertsburg, Cumberland, TN. He was a soldier in the First TN Federal Mounted Infantry & served 3 yrs in the Civil war. He took part in every battle in which his command was engaged & was honorably discharged upon the expiration of his term of enlistment. The town of Hebbertsburg(formerly Yellow Creek) was named after him. He was the first postmaster and operated a store, grist mill and sawmill.
