Paul was drafted into in the Marines 2 December 1968.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 31 May 1969, Paul was assigned to Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment,3 rd Marine Division.
Paul received a gunshot wound 15 June 1969 near the CP area, 10 kilometers northwest of Cam Lo Village.
Paul died of his wounds on 23 June 1969, at the 22nd Casuality Staging Facility in Danang, as a result of a gunshot wound to the body from hostile rifle fire in the Command Post area.
He was single and had been in Vietnam for 24 days.
Survived by his father; Paul B Jones of 4141 Wayland Dr, Inster, MI, his mother; Bessie M Jones and a sister; Melodie Jones of 26220 Colgate, Inster, MI.
