Ezekiel Finch was one of the earliest pioneers of Warren Township. He was born in New York State in 1769, and immigrated to Ohio in the fall of 1806. His family came by flatboat from Pittsburgh to Marietta (son, Calvin, was born on the way) and spent the winter of 1806-1807 on Baileys Island, near Gravel Bank.
He then located to Warren Township and remained there the rest of his life. Ezekiel died at the age of 79 and was buried at Gravel Bank. Wife Sarah died at the age of 91.
