Florence E. Black Fisher, 96, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.
A funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday, November 9, 2012 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Anita Johnson, chaplain of Friendship Haven. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Sullivan of Moorland; son, Dale (Marla) Black of Fort Dodge; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Anna (Hanna) Correy; first husband, Edwin Black in 1974 and husband, Bob Fisher in 2002.
Florence Eloween Correy was born November 4, 1916 in Jamaica, Iowa. She attended school there and graduated high school. On November 6, 1933 she was united in marriage to Edwin Black. The couple established their home in Moorland in 1950. After Edwin passed away she was later united in marriage to Robert Fisher and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Florence worked as a custodian for Barnum School and was a housekeeper for Dr. Schott. She loved her family, music, cooking, and traveling.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
