Mr. Anderson was born May 1, 1931, in Elk City, Okla., to Toby and Verlin.
He served four years in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Mickey" Johnson.
He is survived by one stepson, Randy Parker; one stepdaughter, Jo Wright; two brothers, James and Eddie; five sisters, Imagene Kitrell, Carol Houx, Virginia Medina, Linda Moseley and Sinda Fischer; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial and celebration of life will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at First Southern Baptist Church, 101 N. Central Ave. in Avondale. The Rev. Christopher Wright will officiate.
