Services for Carlton "Wayne" Biggs Sr., 70, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. today in Englunds Chapel with Doug Hale officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

He died Monday, July 23, 2001.

He was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Slaton and attended Slaton schools. He married Joyce Saunders on April 15, 1950, in Portales, N.M. He owned and operated Lubbock Diesel and had had diesel repair shops in Slaton and Idalou and had worked for Gifford Hill Western Irrigation. He had previously been a resident of Slaton and Hobbs, N.M., before moving to Lubbock in 1974. He had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

A son, David, died July 19, 1996.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carlton and Royce, both of Lubbock, and Curtis of Shallowater; two daughters, Cathy Armstrong of Biloxi, Miss., and Carolyn Biggs of Lubbock; a brother, Tommy of Woodrow; two sisters, Lee Moore of Slaton and Carol Dobbs of Stratford, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
